Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic, biodegradable material that, when injected, stimulates the production of collagen by the body. Sculptra stimulates collagen production to restore volume loss. As we age, our body's ability to produce collagen slows and diminishes. Due to this, some areas of the face and body are subject to volume loss. Sculptra works to stimulate collagen production within the body. Typical areas of focus are the temples, cheeks, preauricular, jawline, nasolabial folds, and the chin. Ideal For: Hollowing Difference from Other Fillers: Sculptra differs from hyaluronic acid-based fillers in that it doesn't provide immediate volume. Instead, it gradually enhances the appearance of the treated area as the body produces new collagen. Results and Durability: The results of Sculptra typically appear gradually over several weeks or months, and can last for up to 2 years. Other Potential Uses: While primarily known for facial rejuvenation, Sculptra can also be used for nonsurgical butt augmentation.
