How it works: Sculptra® Aesthetic works by stimulating collagen production. Sculptra yields a very natural result as it is working on our own collagen to restore volume loss that has taken place over time. Sculptra stimulates collagen production to restore volume loss. As we age, our body's ability to produce collagen slows and diminishes. Due to this, some areas of the face and body are subject to volume loss. Sculptra works to stimulate collagen production within the body. Typical areas of focus are the temples, cheeks, preauricular, jawline, nasolabial folds, and the chin. The Sculptra Facial enhancement is a nonsurgical procedure that provides the subtle volumization needed without surgery or downtime. If hip dips or volume loss in the buttocks is a concern, Sculptra can provide a safe, non-surgical way to emphasize the backside by stimulating collagen in the area, adding volume, and strengthening the skin. Results are not immediate; they are built over time. One treatment averages 1-3 vials. Typically 1-3 treatments are needed initially, then annual maintenance treatments are recommended. Results last 2-3 years. Contraindications: Sculptra is contraindicated in patients who are pregnant or lactating (nursing), patients who are allergic to lidocaine, or patients with multiple allergies or high sensitivity to medications. Sculptra is also contraindicated in patients with an acute illness, cold, or virus with or without fevers.
